🥧 Cheese and Potato Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cups grated cheese (cheddar recommended)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • lack pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Method
 

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, then drain well.

  2. Mash the potatoes with butter and milk until smooth.
  3. Add the chopped onion, half of the grated cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  5. Grease a baking dish with olive oil.
  6. Spread the potato mixture evenly into the dish.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Mix different cheeses for extra flavor.
  • Add herbs like thyme or parsley if desired.
  • Serve with a fresh green salad.
