🥯 Cottage Cheese Bagels

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp everything bagel seasoning (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Blend the cottage cheese until smooth.
  3. In a bowl, mix blended cottage cheese with self-rising flour to form a dough.

  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.
  5. Roll each piece into a rope and shape into a bagel.

  6. Place bagels on the prepared tray.
  7. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with seasoning if using.
  8. Bake for 22–25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Add sesame or poppy seeds for variety.
  • Use full-fat cottage cheese for the best texture.
  • Great toasted with cream cheese, avocado, or smoked salmon.
